I Heart Fashion (News): Solange Knowles To Launch Fashion Career

Solange Knowles is about to embark on a new fashion career with high hopes of becoming a chief consultant for a well established fashion firm. Speaking to WENN the singer revealed, 


“I feel like there are so many talented people who've studied this and know the skill of the craft of designing because it is an art, that I would be reluctant to call myself a designer. It's still in the early stages so I can't really reveal [much] but hopefully something will develop."


I'm  actually quite excited about Solange' new career direction. I've always secretly admired her fashion sense (more so than big sister, Beyonce's over glamorous dress sense), so I can only predict good things from this.

I Heart Fashion (News): Puma Goes Red Gold And Green For Jamaican Track And Field Team

Sports giant Puma have partnered with Jamaican fashion designer and daughter of Bob Marley, Cedella Marley to design the new olympic costume for the island's 2012 track and field team. 

Speaking to Vogue.co.uk the Cedella revealed,

"It'll be Grace Jones meets my Dad - very music inspired and a bit retro," says Marley, who began designing clothes while she was on tour with Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, a band comprised of her brothers and sisters. "I'm trying to weave a red, gold and green tag on the inside but really it's about the athletes. There will be elements of Dad's look about it though, especially him in those tracksuits he used to wear - I'll be bringing that too. I'm sure he's smiling down right now."

I Heart Fashion (News): The Temporium-Deezen Pop-Up Shop

Taking residence in London's affluent Knight's Bridge, the Temporium-Deezen pop-up shop will be showcasing a delectable range of products from designers across the globe-including scarves from Christian Zuzunaga and a special prize give away from the Ercol original collection, crafted in 1956. 


The shop will only be open until the19th December, so head down to 221 Brompton Road SW3 2EJ to grab a few Christmas treats before it closes. 

I Heart Music (News): Celebrity YouTube

YouTube have announced the launch of the MyYouTube competition. The largest streaming video site will invite Kanye West, B.o.B, Rhianna, Chrisette Michelle, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber- to name a few, to help encourage fans to  subscribe to their individual YouTube pages and the artist with the most points at the end of the competition will be crowned YouTube Masterhead. In return, users will get the opportunity to win a few goodies from the participants and can view their page without leaving the home page.


The contest will run until the 5th February and will involve another 50 artists,  who have each recorded individual virals to help bolster their popularity. The spinning sensation that is Diddy, has already jump started the competition giving away  a pair of DiddyBeats Headphones but one can only giddily await what the other celebs have in store.

The demand for high street brands to collaborate with elite fashion designers, seems to be coming in thick and fast.
Returning to the latest fashion phenomenon, Karl Lagerfeld, who has already collaborated with H&M, is now working on creating a new collection with Macy's. The fashion icon will launch the line in 250 Macy's stores-as well as online-in September.

If the recent mayhem that took place in Regent Street for the launch of  the H&M and Lanvin collection, is anything to go by-we can expect more scenes of fashion pandemonium ahead.
