I Heart Fashion: Armani Haute Couture 'Prive' Collection

Though I'm a little late (do forgive me) Fashion elites recently took center stage at the Haute Couture fashion week, held in  Paris a few weeks ago and I couldn't let another week pass without paying homage to my favourite collection of the Autumn 2011 high end fashion affair.


The Armani Prive range for me, symbolizes haute couture fashion at its finest -innovative, exquisite,sophisticated and dainty. That being said, Giorgio travelled far east for his latest collection, drawing inspiration from Japanese designs and spotlighting the devastating earthquake and Tsunami which savaged the country in March. 


Armani Prive displays delicate floralprints,soft sillohouettes,bold colours and well-defined shapes-giving us a heads up of what we should be adorning for the season ahead.

Vogue Italia returns with yet another stunning editorial featuring all models of colour. Adorned in this season's most dominant trend and captured by Ellen Von Unwerth; Gaye McDonald, Ubah Hussan, Jae Childs, Lili Taylor, Ariel Meredith, R'el Dade, Jeneil Williams, Cici Ali, Jasmine Tookes and Kelly Moreira put the bold in colour.

I Heart Fashion: Westfield To Launch Spring/Summer 2011 Mega Fashion Wardrobe

Westfield is readying the launch of its one week long shopping extravaganza, due to take place from the 29th March to 3rd April. Westfield 'Big Fashion Wardrobe' will undoubtedly make Oxford street look like an amateur shopping experience compared to the much anticipated event which  also heralds the start of Spring/Summer 2011. 


With high street favorites such as River Island, French Connection, Jaeger and Ted Baker all joining in on the shopping festivities, if the feeling of raiding a house sized wardrobe doesn't excite you then may be the exclusive products- that can't be found in any other store, will entice you. Daisey Lowe will also be on site to launch  her Lomography photographic exhibition in association with the British Heart Foundation.

I Heart Fashion: Lady Gaga Bares All For I-D Magazine

It is indeed the age of the Gaga. And who'd  be more appropriate to cover the front page of I-D's latest 'Exhibitionist' issue than the queen of nudity herself? 

Adorning a latex Mulgar coat (I patiently await the day that the self professed 'monster'wears anything other than latex) and captured by famed photographer Mariano Vivicano-Lady Gaga may have forgotten her clothes for the magazine issue but who needs clothes when you have I-D?

I Heart Fashion: Simeon Farrar Designs Charity T-Shirts For Japan Appeal

Simeon Farrar has fashioned a limited edition T-shirt  for the Save The Children Japan appeal. Following the country's devastating earthquake and tsunami last week,  the artist turned T-shirt designer has released a Kate Mouse Tee, allowing all and sundry to don his latest design in exchange for a £20.00 donation towards the appeal. 


Speaking to Vogue.co.uk the designer revealed,
"Since I began my label I've had such immense support from the Japanese market and over the years I've forged such strong relationships with our shops and their customers. I was due to fly out to Tokyo this Sunday for a ten-day sales trip but this was cancelled at the last minute due to the deepening crisis following last week's earthquake."

You have to hand it to the Parisians, they know a thing or two about fashion and lets face it, fashion week would of a lacked a certain je nais se quoi  if it failed to visit the city of love. Despite the negative attention that enthralled Paris fashion week thanks to John Galliano's anti semitic rants and his immediate dismissal from Christan Dior-  the grand Carrousel du Louvre still welcomed and celebrated couture designs by the leading successors in the world of fashion.

Christian Louboutin welcomed their new Biarritz Leather Flat shoe, to its highly favored shoe collection. Baring resemblance to both the loafer and the deck shoe, the new edition has more of a classic aesthetic typical of the brands renowned style. Costing a mere £492, hopefully we'll be seeing less men fall victim to the flip flop and sock epidemic.

I Heart Fashion: Uma Thurman Lends Her Golden Voice To Narrate Ralph Laurens' 'The RL Gang'

Fashion has become increasingly child friendly over the years, what with every fashion power house worth mentioning, investing in some form of  infant couture collection. This Spring Ralph Lauren has taken it a step further and will be launching 'The RL Gang: A Magically Magnificent School Adventure' video, which will give prominence to  the heritage label's 2011 Spring/Summer childrenswear collection. Narrated by none other than 'Kill Bill's' leading protagonist Uma Thurman, Ralph Lauren will also be conducting a search for one lucky child to showcase their talent in the forthcoming installment of the RL Gang. What I'd give to be 10 years old again!


The collection will launch on March 3rd via the Ralphlauren.com/RLGang as well as Bloomingdales.com/RLGang and TheBay.com/RLGang on March 13th.

I Heart Fashion (Event): Fashion On The Big Screen

Above everything else, fashion and film share one main thing in common, visual splendor. And what better way to celebrate this blissful union  than to dedicate a whole evening to it. Birds Eye View returns with its yearly Fashion Loves Film Festival-pinnacling work by a fashion fest line up of designers, artists and photographers, who will be exploring the relationship between fashion, art and advertising. 

The screening will be promptly followed by a panel chat with a few leading fashion voices including, British vogue art director Jaime Perlman and curator Kathryn Ferguson.

Giles Deacon took a more dignified approach to his usual risqué and playful designs. Soliciting a potent colour contrast of black and white- Deacon's Autumn/Winter collection embraced a highly polished demeanor, enlisting just enough sparkle thanks to Swarovski black beading, which in turn facilitated an appropriate dosage of edginess.
