I Heart Fashion (Video): Swizz Beatz Walks Tall In His New Trainer Collection

Following the announment of his new trainer collaboration with Reebok,  the team at Sneaker Watch sat with producer Swizz Beatz to talk about his latest venture with the brand.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm by no means a trainer expert, but Swizz' new collection doesn't look half bad from where I'm sitting.

Art work by Mella Jaarsma

Analysing the similarity between how we dress and how we feel, GSK Contemporary-Aware Identity exhibition, at the Royal Academy is a rare opportunity for fashion lovers to explore how  fashion is used as a tool to project ones personality.
Work from the likes of Grayson Perry and Mella Jaarsma will be present at the exhibition as well as a flurry of fashionista's, I'm sure.

I bet now you'll think twice about you wear before you leave the house!

I Heart Music (News): Kanye West Interviews Rihanna

It looks as though Kanye West is becoming a jack of all trades, with music and film now under his belt, his most recent venture into journalism seems to be the latest addition to his body of work.

Interviewing label buddy Rihanna for the latest issue of Interview Magazine, the rapper asks Rih Rih a few unconventional questions we all secretly want to know the answers to.

Kanye: How does it feel to know you could have any man in the world? Or Woman. How does it feel to know that you can turn straight women gay?
Rih Rih: Is that a real question?
Kanye:Yeah
Rih Rih: Well thank you. I don't know how to feel about that (laughs) I guess that's flattering.
Kanye: But just to have that level of power. No one woman should have all that power.

Loving the slight pun at the end of the interview Mr West, very cheeky of you!

I Heart Fashion (News): Lagerfeld Takes On Macy's

The demand for high street brands to collaborate with elite fashion designers, seems to be coming in thick and fast.
Returning to the latest fashion phenomenon, Karl Lagerfeld, who has already collaborated with H&M, is now working on creating a new collection with Macy's. The fashion icon will launch the line in 250 Macy's stores-as well as online-in September.

If the recent mayhem that took place in Regent Street for the launch of  the H&M and Lanvin collection, is anything to go by-we can expect more scenes of fashion pandemonium ahead.

I know where I'll be in September!

I Heart Music (Audio): Jazmine Sullivan 'Don't Make Me Wait'

Although this track has been floating on the web for a few days now, admittedly I have only just pressed play (don't judge me). Paying Tribute to the one and only Prince, 'Don't Make Me Wait' is possibly my favourite track from her nearing album 'Love Me Back', that I've heard thus far. Sullivan's voice is quite literally beyond and as for the sentiment behind the song-preach!

Girl power at its finest. You know what to do.

I Heart Fashion: Naomi Campbell Models For Her Beau

Naomi Campbell could wear a black plastic bag whilst riding a bike around Streatham Common and still look fiercely gorgeous. Luckily for the supermodel, she looks just as beautiful modelling luxury apartments in Moscow for her millionaire boyfriend Vladimir Dorinin. Appearing in the commercial, Naomi proves she can sell just about anything and if that still doesn't convince you-the model even did an advert back in 2007 for Dunkin Dougnuts.

Sex sells but by the look of things, so does Naomi Campbell.

Envy with caution!

I Heart Music (Video): Diggy Freestyles Over Mobb Deep's 'Shook Ones'

Young Diggy Freestyles over a Hip hop classic, Mobb Deep's 'Shook Ones' and as usual he has done himself proud.

If Diggy  shows this much potential in the early stages of his music career, one can only but imagine the level of success that awaits him.

Listen, breathe and visualise Queen's Bridge.

Out And About (News): Faith Evans And SWV To Perform In The UK

Faith Evans and 90's R&B  super group, SWV are set to perform a host of shows in London and Manchester.

The UK tour will commence in London on the 5th December and the 8th December.
As an ardent fan of 90's R&B, I can't think of any other female band that best represents such a great era of music. As for Faith, she has been my girl from day one and I still contend that she is perhaps one the most underrated singers to date-her 'Faithfully' album is on constant Sunday afternoon rotation in my house hold.

Can't wait for the show!

I Heart Music (Video): CyHi Da Prynce 'Living Wonderful'

Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music affiliate and latest signee, CyHi Da Prynce is 'Living Wonderful'.

Directed by Decatur Dan, the video for me is a little uninspiring (cue the video chicks, the Moet and the occasional bling bling) but I suppose it gets the point across. That aside, I'm actually feeling this track.

You know what to do.

I Heart Fashion: Tom Ford Reveals First Women's Wear Collection

Tom Ford revealed his first name sake collection to the public for the first time yesterday (15th November). After keeping his beloved collection away from the public eye since New York fashion week, Tom has chosen to  showcase the new line in its entirety in next months issue of  Vogue.

Paying homage to 'the way things were' Tom Ford wanted to keep his latest work away from the Internet and instead chose a handful of elite fashion editors to view his retro-Seventies inspired women's collection.

Tom always seems to infuse charisma and eclectic vision to classic designs and above everything else, his new collection has most certainly lived up to its hype.

I Heart Music (News): Jazmine Sullivan Set To Win Rising Star Award At Billboard Women In Music Award

According to reports, singer/ songwriter Jazmine Sullivan will be badged with the Rising Star Award at the 2010 Billboard Women In Music Event on December 2nd in New York. The Grammy award winning songstress has already enjoyed great success with her break through 2008 album 'Fearless' and it looks as though her forthcoming Sophomore album, 'Love Me Back' isn't far behind.

The prestigious award honours artists that have achieved a level of success and have shown rapid potential at the onset of their career and Jazmine definitely fits the bill as her first single 'Need U Bad', reached no.1 on  Billboard's Hot R&B and Hip hop songs.

Sullivan  will also be joining the likes of Lady Gaga who has also received the award and will no doubt continue to impress the music world with her talent.

I have the unforgettable experience of interviewing Jazmine a few years ago just before her  first London show at the Jazz Cafe, so congratulations are definitely in order!

I Heart Music (News): Jay Electronica Joins Roc Nation Family Tree

It was announced on Friday during Jay Z's secret event held at The Box NYC, that New Orleans Rapper, Jay Electronica is now the latest signee to Roc Nation.

Check out some footage of the event below.

Speaking of Jay Electronica..

Apparently Diddy wasn't best pleased with Jay's decision to sign with Roc Nation and took to twitter to vent his disappointment:

Moments later the following tweet was posted by Erykah Badu ( Mother of JE's daughter):

It hasn't been confirmed whether the above tweets were in relation to Electronica's recent signing but if they were, Diddy is clearly quite cut up about it.

More importantly, does this mean we'll finally get an album, from JE?

I Heart Music (News): Russell Pens Open Letter To Kanye West

Kanye West is no stranger to harsh criticism and media scrutiny. However; Russell Simmons distinctly  highlights why (in his opinion) there is much to be admired about Ye, in his recent open letter to the ChiTown rapper via his Global Grind web site.

Only Calvin Klein can make wearing dark shades indoors look cool with its new release of 3D glasses. Joining Gucci and Oakley in offering a more chic cinematic experience, the 3D shades cost a mere 180 dollar  ( I think that's just over 110 pounds) and are available to buy now.

I Heart Music (News): Kanye West Graces 'Back To The Future Edition' Of I-D Magazine

Kanye West (my secret lover..shh, don't tell anyone!) is doing the media round. Only this time he's showing his i-D.-no, not to verify his age but for the latest issue of I-D Magazine for its 'Back To The Future' edition. Drenched in gold chains, Kanye never fails to add his own spin on things.

Speaking of I-D....
In honour of I-D Magazine's 30th Anniversary, book publisher Taschen  recently created a book that highlights the magazine covers over the last three decades. Originally founded by ex Vogue art director, Terry Jones in 1980, the book pays tribute to the British magazine's dedication to art, music and youth culture. Seen as Ye is on its latest cover, I wonder if he made the cut in time?

Only one way to find out, purchase the book at the Colette online store.

China's economy may have had a recent boost but Japan has long been regarded as the land of forward thinking art and fashion. Therefore Future Beauty -30 Years Of Japanese Fashion at the Barbican, couldn't have arrived at a better time. Gathering the work from Issey Miyake to Tao Kurihara, the exhibition honours the significance  Japanese designers have had on the world since  the 1980's.

I Heart Fashion: Lois Lane To The Rescue

In a parallel universe Super Man would be the one to save the world from destruction. However in the world of fashion, Lois Lane Vintage is the commander in chief and Super Man...well I guess the blue spandex will have to take a back seat.

Lois Lane Vintage is a retro-centric online boutique based in Brooklyn with an insatiable appetite for 1940's through to 1980's vintage garments. Amid a sea of online boutiques, what stands out about Lois Lane Vintage is the creative spin the boutique has on its hand picked garments. From added buttons to altered necklines, (all of which are magically transformed in the Lois Lane workshop) bespoke clothing has never before been so tangible to the humble online consumer.

Adore with caution!

I Heart Music (Video): Cee-Lo-'Bright Lights, Bigger City'

Cee-Lo is a class act, in fact his unyielding talent easily catapults him to head of the class. With that said, his new video 'Bright Light, Bigger City' taken off his solo album 'Lady Killer', is a testament to his greatness.

you know what to do.

Listen, breathe and follow the bright light.

I Heart Fashion: Forever21

Another day, another fashion find and today welcomes American fashion label Forever21. Having served the all American fashionista with years of affordable fashion, Forever21 is now planning to set up shop in London's Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Westfield's shopping centre.

Think H&M meets Urban Outfitters and you'll understand why I am beside myself with excitement. The US chain offers everything from  basic T-shirts to glamorous dresses and accessories to match every occasion under the sun, all at bargain prices.

If the hype for Oxford Street's 'Primani' (Primark for those who have been living under a rock for the last five years) is anything to go by, one can only imagine and slightly fear the hullabaloo that awaits this poor city.

Feast your eyes on a few of my favourites..

I Heart Fashion: Louboutin To Expand Shoe Empire

Christian Louboutin will be opening 11 new stores across the glob in 2011, as reported by the Sunday telegraph. The red soled genius , currently owns 29 shoe stores world wide, though I'm sure adding a few more to his empire couldn't do any harm. Not one to be out done, Rolex are also in talks of marking their territory in the extravagant new £1billion London development, One Hyde Park.

It looks like luxury is the theme for Christmas this year.Thank you, please!

I Heart Music (Video): Kanye West Talks Openly At Press Conference

There are numerous reasons why I love Kanye West.  Aside from the fact that he has, quite frankly produced some of the best music in history, he is also one of very few artists that speaks honestly about the world around him, even if at time it makes for uncomfortable viewing.

Speaking at a press conference from KDWB 101.3's press junket, Kanye keeps it real and straight to the point. Nothing new there then.

You know what to do.

I Heart Fashion: A Little Bird Told Me...

Variety is the spice of life but when it comes to the internet, sometimes too much variety can lead you to go around in circles, even more so than a dodgy TomTom navigator.

Luckily for me, my daily internet crusade lead me to an unexpected lucky find. A Little Bird, is a new life style website created by ex-Vogue Journalist Daisy Garnett and her business affiliate Francesca Martin.

The website offers an "opinionated guide to what's on", in other words, it cuts out all the unnecessary fraff and provides you with trustworthy information on fashion, lifestyle, music and everything in between.

Direct and straight to the point, just how I like it!
